Matariki kite festival
We saw some awesome kites (Octopus, fish, turtle...) and we listened to the story about matariki at the Matariki kite festival. We even could see how a hangi (traditional earth oven) is made and mum and I tried it afterwards. It tasted delicious! We also made a traditional Maori kite out of flax and danced a Haka.
